These are questions I get asked about OFTEN. So I decided to tell you what my favorites of the bunch are and why I carry this much to weddings and to almost all of my sessions.

First. My camera bodies.

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Canon 5D Mark III, I know a lot of people ask what camera brand is better, and I personally feel that every single brand has their positives and negatives. I do not discriminate and I actually used to shoot on a Nikon D3300 before I upgraded to full frame. I chose canon because I love how it looks and I really loved the 5D line from Canon so that is what I went with! When I eventually do upgrade, I definitely will be getting mirrorless because these BAD BOYS are HEAVY! But I have had my Mark III since August 2018, I bought it used. I got my Mark IV BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW in May of 2019. Once I started shooting weddings, I realized the importance of shooting dual. It is so important to have a backup camera just in case something happens! I have actually dropped my one of my cameras (twice!) on a wedding when my harness broke. It is so important to have a backup. My favorite is my Mark IV because it is touch screen, has remote control and I love the colors on it more.

My lenses. 

I have three lenses.

• Canon 50mm 1.8 (my first lens!)
• Tamron 24-70 2.8mm
• Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 (My most recent)

I love all three of my lenses, if you follow the photography community at all, there is a BIG debate on prime vs. zoom. I personally do not have a preference. I love my primes for softer focus pictures, but love my 24-70 for weddings and is so versatile! If I would have to choose a favorite, it would have to be my 35mm, but don’t tell the other lenses I said that. 

My flashes.

I know I am going to get some HEAT for this but I have never used OCF but I am dying to learn! For weddings I love my amazon basic flashes, because they are cheap, easy to use and have never let me down. I also have a diffuser for them if I need it! I also just got this new flash that is meant for video but I love using it for wedding receptions because it brightens the room but still keeps the ambience of the reception. As for my harness, I love that it has my logo, but I am getting a new one. This has broken on me twice now and I am going to find a replacement. I cannot trust it whatsoever.

My circular crystal prism thing, I LOVE THIS. I use it often and it has been one of my staples to do for my wedding clients at their reception. I would love to give Andi O’Bert photography a huge shoutout in showing me this amazing thing. Buy multiple of these because they do break superrr easily. 

My fanny pack, I usually only bring this to weddings because it is filled with extra goodies for wedding day! Inside I always carry:

• My business cards
• Blotting papers
• Thread and needle
• Bandaids
• SCISSORS
• Nail File
• Hair ties
• Nail Clippers
• Sanitizer
• Eyelash Brush (I don’t know what else to call it)
